Lumina shapes the world
Lumina creates Lumani and raises the Heart — the wellspring that keeps the realm alive.
World Of Lumani
Lumani was shaped by Lumina, goddess of light and order, and sustained by the Heart — a vast crystal that feeds the realm life and radiance. The war called the Battle for Lumani is not only a clash of armies: it is a fight over whether power is earned in harmony with that order, or torn from the world by force.
World pillars
The realm
From sun-scoured deserts and volcanic wastes to floating isles and depths beneath the waves, Lumani is built as a tapestry of distinct realms. Ordinary people are increasingly forced to choose a side as the Shadows gather and the Luminists hold the line for Lumina's order.
The full geography and political map of the realm are still widening as the story grows; when a definitive world map is ready, it will appear here alongside deeper lore features.
Cosmology
Lumina is the creator of Lumani — more defined by purpose than by mortal personality: source of life, light, and the pattern the Luminists swear to protect. The Heart is her great work visible in the world: a magical crystal that continually nourishes the land. What the world asks of its people is summed up in the natural order: harmony, freedom, the truth of life and death, and balance between forces. The Shadows are not merely a rival kingdom; they are a rebellion against that structure itself.
Sacred stake
The Heart is the great crystal that sustains the realm — light, life, and myth made manifest. It is among the most important symbols of the setting and likely one of the greatest spiritual and strategic stakes as the war deepens.
Stories of the Heart belong at the center of Lumani's identity: what it means to guard it, corrupt it, or break faith with the world it keeps alive.
History
The present war rests on ages of covenant and choice. This is the broad shape of the realm — the deep story stays in the game.
Creation era
Lumina creates Lumani and raises the Heart — the wellspring that keeps the realm alive.
Covenant era
The First Covenant binds those who walk in harmony with Lumani and the elements, opening the path to Light Magic for the patient and the true-hearted.
Fracture
Not everyone who swore the First Covenant kept it. Some turned aside for ambition, fear, or a quicker road to strength — and the darkness was waiting. What began as whispered bargains and broken vows grew into a movement with banners, armies, and leaders who preach dominion over trust.
Today
The Shadows organize at scale. The conflict is open and world-defining. The Luminists defend covenant and order; the Shadows seek power without restraint — and the cost is measured in souls as well as borders.
Power
The Way of the Light
Many Luminists enter the First Covenant while young. The bond asks them to live in harmony with Lumani and its elements. Honor deepens access to Light Magic: power grows through dedication, discipline, and the strength of relationship with the elements — not through shortcuts.
Vows of the covenant include: uphold peace and balance; protect the freedom of Lumani's people; never wield elemental power for selfish gain; use power only in defense or in service of others.
Legends speak of elements revealing their true names to those whose bond is almost unbreakable — a rare depth of mastery whispered about more than catalogued.
The Darkness
Dark Magic is easier than covenantal power and asks little of the soul — at first. Each use strips something away. Over time, the darkness erodes will and identity until little remains of the person who first reached for it.
In Lumani, shadow is not just another school of spells. It is a corruptive force that hollows the wielder — and makes the moral split between factions impossible to ignore.
Factions
The Luminists
Followers of Lumina and guardians of the Way of the Light. Their path is covenantal rather than opportunistic, protective rather than exploitative — peace, balance, and stewardship against the abuse of power for ambition.
On the field they favor stability, discipline, and layered defense; patience becomes advantage when the enemy overextends.
The Shadows
Those who turned from Lumina's path: fallen Luminists who broke their vows, people who rejected the covenant as too slow, and power-seekers who want control without limits.
They dominate, exploit, and reject balance for conquest or self-interest. In combat that means pressure, volatility, and punishing anyone who hesitates.
Shadow sovereign
Korvac stands at the head of the Shadow host — the face the wider world most often names when it speaks of the war. What path led him there, and what he left behind, belong to the stories we tell in the game first.
Enough to say here: Lumani's conflict is not only realm against realm. It turns on choices people make when power is within reach — and whether they reach through covenant or seizure.
Realms of Lumani
Each region anchors how we think about terrain, atmosphere, and the stories tied to where a battle breaks out or a people makes their home.
Beyond the two great factions, Lumani hints at other peoples and cultures — sea guardians, Feathered Folk, forest and desert dwellers — still widening into full civilizations as the world grows.
What you'll discover
The roster is built so larger ideologies show up in bonds, grudges, and second chances — the kind of detail that lands harder when you meet it in context. The deepest threads stay in the game on purpose.
Some champions share blood, masters, or old promises — and still end up on opposite sides when the drums sound. The faction line is simple; the people on it rarely are.
The Shadows are not a faceless horde. Covenant and darkness both recruit from the same world. That tension is meant to follow you into matches and whatever story we tell next.
Luminist kits lean on trust, relationship, and restraint. Shadow kits lean on coercion and volatility. How someone fights hints at what they believe — without spelling out their full history here.
Key art
Wide paintings that capture the scale of the war—covenant heroes, Shadow host, and landmark battles—anchor this row below.
On the battlefield
Luminist power reflects balance with the elements and more measured strategic control.
Shadow power reflects coercion, volatility, and a willingness to overwhelm the opponent outright.
Team construction is not cosmetic. Character identity and faction identity work together to shape tempo, pressure, and survivability.
